Live Traffic Receiver

Finding your way isn’t just knowing the route, it’s also knowing the routes to avoid. TomTom offers you a way to keep up-to-date free for life using the latest traffic updates via the TMC Traffic Receiver. When the receiver is connected, it provide real-time traffic information directly to your TomTom. Armed with this incredible knowledge of near real-time road conditions, your compatible navigation system can warn you of problems ahead, and recommend routes that minimise congestion.

The TomTom RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver gets traffic information to your GPS unit.  RDS-TMC (radio data signal – traffic management channel) uses the FM radio band to deliver traffic incident and congestion messages to your TomTom GPS to keep you informed.  You can get traffic updates and let your TomTom reroute you around congestion.  By simply connecting the RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver to your TomTom device and the car charger, you will automatically receive traffic information via the TMC connection.

Once a journey is planned, traffic alerts which relate to the route are clearly displayed in the traffic bar on the right hand side of the screen. When you tap the icon shown in the traffic bar, you will receive further information, such as the cause or kind of delay to traffic, such as an accident or traffic jam.
